Specification for Chemical Damp Proof Course Installation
D.P.C. 1.
The affected walls will be drilled and injected with a suitable chemical certificated by the BBA. The level of injection to take into account BSCP 102 (external ground clearance) and may involve drilling single leaf walls from
one side or multiple drilling from either or both sides of thicker walls, depending on the thickness and type of wall. Low Pressure injection ensures total saturation of a horizontal course at a desired level and by seepage,
into the course below, together with the surrounding mortar joints. Silicone resins are deposited evenly throughout the capillaries to create a barrier against capillary attraction of moisture from the sub-structure. The damp
coursing fluid will be Aqueous/Siliconate.

FreezTeq Frozen Damp Course System
D.P.C. 3.
Freezteq is a unique and highly effective damp coursing system which has been patented in the UK and Overseas, and which offers several major advantages over other chemical techniques. There are no spillage liquids to create a
health hazard or damage decorations and furnishings, etc. The system is based on siliconate solutions, which are inserted into holes drilled in the mortar line of the wall to be treated in the form of circular section pre-frozen
pellets. Each hole must receive four applications. The slow melting system ensures a continuous water repellent barrier throughout the treated area because the system depends on diffusion, which research has shown to be the
most effective method for fluid distribution in masonry, accurate doses can readily be achieved.
D.P.C. 4
Tri-Gel is a unique chemical damp proofing which is formulated to produce a thixotropic gel allowing the establishment with minimum internal displacement to occur.
D.P.C. 5
DRYZONE : Where we specify the Dryzone installation method we would recommend that all existing retained wall areas be treated for the true rising Dampness from the internal wall areas only. DRYZONE : This method is to insert a
new horizontal chemical damp proof course into the existing brickwork from the internal wall areas through 12mm percussion drillings into the first mortar joint one full brick above the proposed new finished floor datum, to
facilitate the insertion of the new proposed horizontal chemical damp proof course it will be necessary to remove the existing mainly lime sand mortar wall plaster to a height not less than 150mm above the new proposed floor
finishes, we have not included for the removal of this plaster detail within our accompanying estimate of costs, the horizontal chemical damp proof works that we are proposing to install is the Dry Zone targeted cream solution
for rising dampness, this is a description of this method as follows: The Dryzone damp-proofing system has a number of advantages over these systems: Dryzone can be injected two to three times faster than ordinary liquid injection
fluids. Treatment can therefore be completed earlier, minimising disruption to the householder. Dryzone is not injected under pressure. The risk of fluid leaking into neighbouring rooms or properties and causing damage is therefore
virtually eliminated. Dryzone does not contain any hydrocarbon solvents, so has very little smell. Dryzone is the result of an extensive in-house research and development programme. This involved the screening and testing of
hundreds of potential formulations. These tests demonstrate that Dryzone offers a higher degree of protection against rising damp than the chemical injection systems that it was designed to replace.Dryzonedamp-proofing cream
has also been tested independently by the British Board of Agreement (BBA), UK member of the European Union of Agreements. The BBA is a Government-partnered testing organisation that has been providing authoritative and independent
information on building products for over 30 years. Not all damp-proofing treatments have passed the tests necessary to achieve BBA approval. Using a BBA certified product, such as Dryzone, is your assurance that the product
has been proven fit for the purpose it was designed for. Outperforms conventional damp-proofing treatments Outperforms competing cream and gel-based systems has better spread-characteristics than competing systems Performs
in stone and rubble-filled walls We have included within our estimate of costs for the treating of all remaining original wall areas at ground floor level with the Dryzone chemical cream method for the eradication of the true
rising dampness.
